Dechra’s latest nutritional launch offers optimised digestive support
Dechra Veterinary Products has launched an optimised version of SPECIFIC™ CID Digestive Support, its tried and trusted diet to help manage gastrointestinal disorders.
Diarrhoea and vomiting are among the most common presenting signs seen in dogs, irrespective of age, and may result from a range of different causes, including malabsorption and maldigestion. Satisfactory resolution of these cases depends to a great extent on prompt and effective dietary management.
SPECIFIC™ Digestive Support, is specially formulated to meet the demanding criteria of canine disorders, such as exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), acute gastroenteritis, pancreatitis and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). While keeping the trusted basic composition, new ingredients have been added to create additional benefits, which make optimised SPECIFIC™ CID Digestive Support a ‘best-in-class’ highly digestible intestinal diet:
- Enhanced immune support: Added beta-1,3/1,6-glucans, egg immunoglobulins and MOS for unique strengthening of the intestinal immune support:
Egg immunoglobulins prevent attachment of pathogens to the intestinal villi and offer passive enhancement of the intestinal immune system.
Beta-1,3/1,6-glucans can alert the immune system and support the immune response.
MOS can prevent pathogenic bacteria from binding to the intestinal wall. - Effective odour control: Yucca extract binds ammonia to reduce unpleasant faecal odour and flatulence.
- Intestinal protection complex: Psyllium husk, zeolite, fructo-oligosaccharides and beet pulp provides protection of the intestinal tract and promotes intestinal health.
