Liverpool University Student Wins Dechra Dermatology Prize

Tania Parsons, a Veterinary Science student at the University of Liverpool, is the winner of this year’s Dechra Veterinary Products Dermatology Prize. Dechra awards the prize to the student who has displayed the greatest aptitude for veterinary dermatology.

 

Tania receives Debenhams vouchers to the value of £450 from Dechra. Commenting on her win, Tania says: “I am thrilled to have won the Dechra Dermatology Prize. Skin diseases are not always the most popular conditions to treat, so I am really pleased to have gained a greater depth of knowledge in dermatology. I’m sure it will prove to be very useful in my career. I would like to say a huge thank you to Dechra for the prize and to the dermatology team for all their support. They were fantastic.”

 

Dr Tim Nuttall, Senior Lecturer in Veterinary Dermatology at the University of Liverpool, says: “Tania very successfully completed the dermatology elective, showing enormous enthusiasm, knowledge and skill. She worked well with the dermatology team and was excellent with the clients and patients. Academically, she has done very well, passing all three subjects with credits in her final year.”

 

Tania graduated with a BVSc with distinction and has now joined Alfold Veterinary Surgery in Cranleigh, Surrey, as a Veterinary Assistant.
